The success of the D&L Performance Revolver Grips for full size revolvers has resulted in many calls for scaled down PRG grips for the smaller J frame revolvers.

Like the larger PRG grip, a primary goal for the J frame PRG grip design was to allow the sights of the revolver to point at the target without requiring shooters to roll their wrists downward and out of the locked position. Success has been achieved by advanced design: the compact PRG grip causes the sights to be on target while your wrists remained locked. The compact beavertail area of the grip spreads recoil in the web of the shooter's hand and makes the grip very comforable to shoot and train with. The grip design allows shooters to stay on target during rapid strings of fire.

Another goal of the PRG J frame grip was to keep the grip as small as possible, while still allowing full control of the revolver. This has been achieved by proper shaping of the grip. The compact J frame PRG grip allows two fingers to be positioned above the finger shelf on the front strap, and the grip features a little finger placement position just under the primary finger shelf. This design allows the grip to fit the widest variety of hand sizes, and provides excellent recoil control.

The compact PRG J frame grip was designed to still allow for pocket carry. The bottom rear area of the grip has been deeply scalloped in order to allow for drawing from the pocket without catching the bottom rear of the grip on the pocket mouth.

The left side of the grip has been scalloped to allow for ease of loading the cylinder.

The J frame PRG grip features dual recessed crossbolts for a secure fit to the frame of the revolver. The grip also features disassembly punch holes to allow the grip to be easily removed from the revolver (without having to pry on the grip). The grips are constructed of heavy duty G10, and feature a fine textured surface.
