A custom M2 can be set up to your preferred pattern spread depending on your expected use distances. An improved cylinder choke will give you a wider pattern spread. A modified choke will give you a slightly tighter pattern. And a full choke will hold the pattern fairly tight all the way out to 30 yards. These test patterns were fired with military grade 2 3/4" 9 pellet 00 buckshot. As you can see from the patterns, a shotgun still needs to be aimed to center the pattern on target. |

IMPORTANT SAFETY WARNINGS |
|
Full chokes and improved modified chokes are not suited to steel shot. And you should not shoot slugs through tight chokes. It is very important that you use the correct ammunition through all of your firearms. If there are any questions, consult a qualified expert before firing any firearm. It is a good practice to logically evaluate your personal requirements, then select one ammo and one choke combination and stick with it. NEVER change chokes while the gun is loaded. The best practice is to unload the gun and remove the barrel before changing chokes. Be sure the installed choke is secure, and be sure to remove the choke wrench before loading and firing the gun. |
