| Grip and/or traction enhancement for the front strap of 1911 pistols has been a desirable option on custom pistols for decades. There have been other texturing procedures developed over the years to improve grip traction on the pistol, but none have been as effective as professional steel checkering. One of the reasons you see other procedures, such as stippling and scalloping, is that it is easier and cheaper to apply. Going the easy route, but not the most effective, is not the route at D&L Sports. Top performance is the goal, and that is why professional grade checking is still offered at D&L Sports. It is not the cheapest, or easiest to apply, but it is the most effective, and that makes it the best choice. |
